グスタフ・クリムトは帝政オーストリアの画家です（1862年7月14日〜1918年2月6日）。
女性の裸体、妊婦、セックスなどの赤裸々で官能的なテーマで描かれるクリムトの作品は甘美で妖艶なエロスと共に、どこか死の香りが感じられます。
生前クリムトの家には、15人もの女性が寝泊まりしていたそうです。何人もの女性が裸婦モデルをつとめ、中には妊娠した女性もいたとのこと。生涯を通して結婚はしていないクリムトですが、多くの裸婦モデルと愛人関係にあったそうです。
この作品も、生々しく官能的な中にどこか中国美術の匂いを感じさせます。
Gustav Klimt(July 14, 1862 – February 6, 1918) was an Austrian painter.
Klimt’s works marked by sensual theme using the subjects of a naked female, a pregnant woman and sexual scene somehow have a scent of death as well as eroticism.
It is said that during his lifetime some 15 women were lodging in his house. Some were nude models, including a pregnant woman. Although he never married, he had numerous lovers among his models.
Those works have a feeling of Chinese art along with an erotic atmosphere.
